Louis Meunier, Chairman
Louis
Meunier is the Executive Vice President of Macy’s West, and has been with
the company for 37
years. Meunier is involved in the state and local service organizations
including serving as Immediate Past Chairman, California Retailer’s
Association; Past Chairman, San Francisco Convention & Visitor’s Bureau;
Finance Chair, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, United
Way of the Bay Area; Executive Committee Member, Goodwill of Santa Clara
County; Immediate Past Chairman, School of Education Corporate Advisory
Council, Saint Mary’s College of California. A resident of San Francisco,
Meunier attended Lowell High School and graduated in 1965. He received his
BA in Medieval History and English Literature from University of California,
Davis in 1969.
William Hauck, Vice Chairman
Bill Hauck
is President of the California Business Roundtable and
serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for
California State
University. Bill has served as deputy chief of staff to a Governor and as
a top aide to two State Assembly speakers. Bill also chaired the California
Constitution Revision Commission during its 1994-96 existence.
Jim Lanich,
Ph.D.,
President
Dr. Lanich began
his career as an inner city middle school teacher for the Los Angeles Unified
School District. In 1992, he joined the Los Angeles County Office of Education
where he led the Research and Development Unit. In 1998, he assumed leadership
of Core Curriculum Services for the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools
where he developed and led the Academic Achievement Alliance charged with
raising the reading and math scores in the 100 lowest performing schools of Los
Angeles County. In 1999, he was elected by the 58 counties of California as the
Chairman of the California Technology Assistance Project, charged with bringing
standards based education to all schools of California. In 2001 he served as the
first Director for the Inaugural Broad Prize for Urban Education which awarded
$1 million dollars in scholarships to high performing urban school districts in
the U.S. Dr. Lanich currently serves as Executive Director of Just for the
Kids-California, a non-profit organization that provides free, easy to
understand data on the performance of every school in California and promotes
identified, proven teaching best practices that get results.
